For the price we pay, I'd expect more regular maintenance of ... the space and to not have constant issues with plumbing, shower/bath floors, and having to put maintenance requests in constantly for minor repairs. I've been trying to get someone to come out and fix a leak in the ceiling for a year, and our air filter hasn't been changed since we moved in almost 2 years ago for example. I have no idea why this place doesn't have higher reviews. It is in a great, safe location right of I-40 (25min weekday commute ... to downtown), the staff are very friendly and helpful, any maintenance requests I've had have been fulfilled promptly. I'm a young professional and often get home late, and I have never felt unsafe walking back to my apartment or had trouble finding parking; if you can't find a spot right in front of your building you can go over to other lots and it's a short walk to your apartment. Also, the cats are hardly a problem, most of them are pretty friendly and management is working to keep the population under control. Also the fact that there is laundry INSIDE the apartment at this price point is hard to find; yes it takes up more room in the kitchen, but who wants to walk out in freezing weather during the winter to do laundry? If I could afford to continue living here I would, I'm only moving because I am moving into a house with a friend. I love living here for the most part
The parking is terrible. There are not enough spots in front of the buildings for the amount of people living in said buildings. ... They recently redid the line work on the parking spots. They are now smaller and placed at odd intervals. So the risk of a careless person denting your car has increased. Otherwise, this place is wonderful. Our apartment is spacious. The few maintenance requests we put in have been taken care of quickly and professionally. The staff are always kind whenever we interact with them. The pool rules leave something to be desired but they do have several pools. Rent is pretty decent for the location. Safety factor is high. Quiet neighborhood. The apartments are laid out well. The neighbors are good neighbors. The grounds are beautiful and the Greenway is a wonderful ... perk. I have NEVER lived in apartments so quiet...I have now had 4 different immediate neighbors that I share a wall with and I never have any idea if they are home or not. I live in the townhouse section, parking is not an issue even if I very occasionally need to park a few feet down from my front door. It's very, very dog friendly, although it is annoying when people don't pick up after pets, but that's not the norm. Maintainence is responsive and the office staff is very helpful usually. The pool is really nice and in the summer I use it pretty much daily. I have lived here for going on 3 years, and it's been a true home to me. I may wind up moving this year for work, and I doubt I'll be lucky enough to find a gem like this if I do. They aren't NEW apartments, and it's the South so there's bugs occasionally, but that's not an issue with the place, it's the natural environment of TN. Wonderful place, I've been very happy here. I have been here since June and I really like living at Stewart's Ferry Apartments. The grounds are well kept and maintenance ... was very quick about fixing my issue. My only complaint is the dog owners. I wish they were more strict about them following the rules. Some dog owners in my building allow their dogs to poop anywhere including the stairs and entryway to my building and don't clean up after them. I don't like or appreciate having to watch where I am walking to avoid stepping into poop and tracking it into my car or apartment. I wish something could be done to completely stop this. I enjoyed living in my Townhome at Stewarts Ferry. It was quiet and there was plenty of parking. I never had any trouble ... with my neighbors or noise. The main flaw with my unit was the heating and cooling. The HVAC unit could not keep up with temperature extremes. Requested it fixed and it only temporarily resolved the issue. The layout was nice and the fixtures were in good condition. The property management is nice, but they stick to the rules. For example, I didn't realize that they had not received my new renter's policy when it was sent, so property management charged me. There was no phone call or notice. Only when I went to pay rent and fought the charge having my insurance resend the policy was I made aware.
